Sample Speech Four:

"Best Man Speech"

Hello, how's everyone doing?

If I could please have everyone's attention, I'd like to propose a toast to the Bride and Groom.

The first thing I thought when I heard that Jason was getting married was [insert your first thoughts, humorous or serious, such as my cousin's getting married?!?  What brave strong woman would marry my best friend?]

I mean, after all, this is the same guy who [insert story or funny thing that happened to Groom while you were present, such as set fire to his car when we were tailgating at the football game or froze his tongue to the flagpole at school in the fifth grade.]

But seriously, I knew when I saw the way he looked at Melanie, I saw that happiness in his eyes and I knew it was the same happiness I felt when I married [insert your wife's name].  I know it's the best thing that ever happened to me, and I'm sure this is the best thing that ever happened to Jason.

I want nothing better than to see Jason happy, and when I met Melanie, I knew she was the one that could accomplish that.

And being married myself, I'd like to share some of the adages I've learned though first hand experiences, such as the definition of a husband:

·       What is a husband? A husband is that mysterious creature who buys his football tickets in June and his wife's Christmas present on December 24!

·       Marriage is an alliance of two people – one who never remembers birthdays and the other who never forgets them.

·       It's easy for every young man to know when the right girl comes along – because she tells him!

I'm just kidding.  Marriage is the only way to have your cake and eat it too, and I wouldn't change my life for one second, and I know you are each going to feel the same way.

Everyone, I'd like to propose a toast to the newlyweds:

To that look in their eyes that I see today, and to happiness that lasts forever!

A toast to you two!
